2015 in pictures

The New Year is a time for new resolutions, but also for remembering all the great moments we enjoyed in the last 12 months. Here are just a few of ours.

1. SWIMMING WITH SHARKS IN D-DUE’S SPRING-SUMMER 2015 COLLECTION

Pools, sharks and swimmers were the theme for D-Due’s “Pool” collection this summer. The Californian landscape presented in a casual, ironic style.

2. WE MADE FRIENDS WITH STORY CHARACTERS THANKS TO D-DUE LAB

We made some great friends in 2015. Our workspace filled up with illustrations, sketches and wooden figures, which we used to breathe life into the stories from D-due Lab. Now we’re all used to being together, and the collection wouldn’t be the same without them. “Wild Pottery” was the name of D-due Lab’s Spring-Summer 2015 collection.

3. WE APPEARED IN THE JAPANESE “KINFOLK

Last year was a great year. We love magazines, and we love Kinfolk. That’s why we loved appearing in the Japanese edition.

4. WE TRAVELLED AROUND GALICIA WITH H.P. FRANCE

During the summer, we received a visit from our friends at H.P. France. We walked around Santiago de Compostela, we visited the Galician Crafts Fair in Agolada, we climbed up the sand dunes in Corrubedo, and we enjoyed lunch next to the sea. And it was all included in issue 177 of its publication PAPER.

5. WORKS BY ALFREDO OLMEDO TRAVELLED TO THE TOKYO ART FAIR

In September, H.P. France invited D-due to take part in the Tokyo Art Fair. This contemporary art event displayed five pieces by Alfredo Olmedo from the series “Love & Peace”.

6. SCIENCE FICTION CAME WITH THE COLD

Space and cosmic images were the underlying themes of D-due’s Autumn-Winter collection, “Cosmic Thing.” A winter of dark garments illuminated with some of the most ingenious elements of space-age imagery. Spaceships, flying saucers and comets zooming around garments with asymmetrical lines.

7. WE PLAY AROUND – A LOT

String Figures is a kind of “cat’s cradle” that has been played by adults and children all over the world since time immemorial, especially during the winter months, as it is a great pastime to enjoy in front of the fire. All you need is a knotted piece of string and certain degree of manual dexterity.

Illustrations including some of the movements used in the game and geometric grids made of fabric were the highlights of D-due Lab’s Autumn-Winter collection, “Knots”.
